He volunteered to come help build houses for the underprivileged. At the airport he was met by three men who were to take him to the local aid station. After a thirty minute drive they they pulled up to a storefront with the windows blacked out. He was led inside where they showed him the aid station. It was a small room with holes drilled in the walls about 30 inches above the floor. He was directed to help out and give aid to any of the impoverished locals who presented themselves. At the end of the week he was picked up and driven back to the airport.
He helped out over 400 local men during the week he was volunteering at the aid station.
Back at work he told his coworkers he would volunteer again, because it felt good to give. He also said it felt as though he got more back from the locals than he gave.
