On the field Red had shown me his superior athletic skills. He was a big intimidating fellow with an easy going manner. Everything about him said he was in charge and used to getting his way, he did not need to prove anything.

In the locker room after the game, I understood the source of his confidence and power. He showed me what it meant to be a man, and he showed me that I would never “measure up”.
